Trust and Complacency
True reliance on God combines prayer with action—whereas complacency hides inaction behind the mask of faith.
If prayer alone were sufficient, we would not have been commanded to take the means. True reliance (tawakkul) is prayer and action; complacency (tawaakul), on the other hand, is abandoning action under the pretense of trust.
